Based on the input that I could gather from a couple of other blogs, it sounds like using a BAPI to accomplish this function may be a sure-fire option.
But can you please confirm if it was possible to accomplish this by feeding data into the E1EDP05 segment? It would be a lot easier if it can be done using this option.
