Hi,
I don't have much experience although but I would like to share 1 thing. I once experienced the same problem in some FI report. After following all the steps in google also, it was not setting to default.
Later on I copied the whole program to a zreport and made changes on to that according to the user.
You can take this in mind as the last alternative. Till then wait for the better solution. Hope it helps.
